Speechless….

Welcome Back!

This weeks dinners required a few pounds of hamburger. I usually get it prepackaged, but much to my surprise, there wasn’t any prepackaged hamburger to purchase by the pound

So I headed to the  meat counter and asked for six separate pounds of hamburger. Then asked, “Have you moved the prepackaged meat or did I just miss it?”

The meat counter guy went on to explain, “Actually, it’s just been too cold to harvest animals and…”

He went on to say more, but I didn’t hear anything after harvest animals.  I must have had quite the look on my face because he abruptly stopped talking and just continued to package my… harvested…meat. 😣

Winner!!!

Hello!

I am a huge Hy-Vee gas card “user.” I have seen pictures of receipts on social media of people paying next to nothing with their gas card, but have not been so lucky…until this week!

Check this out…

A gallon of gas (up to 15 gallons) cost me less then one penny!

As you can see, I saved 1.99 per gallon of gas, which was a total of 36.26 in savings! My total bill for gas this day was 16 cents!!

I quickly called Jason to let him know I charger 16 cents so he didn’t think his credit card was being compromised…again!

Playing Cards…

Hello!

We have been playing a lot of cards to pass time while hibernating.   It’s been fun (at times)  but Jack has an issue.  He won’t hold his cards so no one can see them. It drives all of us insane!

We’ve tried everything…cheating by looking at his cards while he holds them down, telling him we are cheating, pushing his hand back even Sam demonstrated how to hold your cards. (Though in this game you don’t want cards, so Sam probably isn’t the best example with his handful of points)

We finally found something that helped a bit…a small shrubbery. Jack cannot have his cards go past the shrubbery. Amazingly, it has lessened his showing of his cards.

Jack suggested maybe he needed to build a wall to keep his cards secure, which was met with a chorus of…”NO!” 🙂

Cleaning OUt…

Hello, Everyone!

Since Jack had a growth spurt, it was time to go through his clothes. We started with pants (fairly painless) and then I told him to go get his shorts.

He took awhile to come downstairs and I thought he was stalling. He then came around the corner and I burst out laughing!

Jack had put ALL his shorts on at one time!

He tired counting the pairs, and figured he had about 17 pairs of shorts on…seriously…time to clean out!!

Jack’s silly antics actually turned out to be a great idea! He would take a pair off and tell me keep or donate!

We quickly had a donate and keep pile. When he wasn’t sure, I would ask him if that pair brought him joy. He looked at me like, What?

I asked him if those shorts gave him the same feeling as holding a puppy 🙂

“No.”
He is now looking at me as if I had lost my mind.

“Ok. Then you don’t keep anything that doesn’t make you feel like you are holding a puppy.”

“Ok?”

If you have no idea what I am talking about, then you need to check out this show on Netflix!

Oh Christmas Tresssss!

Hello!

I went out to finish up some Christmas shopping, ran into some super sales and suddenly I had four new Christmas trees in my car! (Oops!)

Let me explain. The night before gals were talking about their trees and how they put one here in their house…there in their house…everywhere in their house!

It spoke to me.

So, I put one 4′ tree in our bedroom.

One 3′ little guy on the shelf outside my craft room.

And the boys each have one in their rooms as well.

Sam’s tree all decorated…

And Jack’s “pre-lit” tree…but just one side.

PS…Sam and Jason were out and Jason mentioned getting a tree for the screened-in porch. Sam looked at him and said, “Don’t you think we have enough trees!”  He is correct.

Check Up!

Hello!

Jack had his first 6 week check up since getting his braces on and I am glad to report that he is doing very well!

Check our these teeth 6 weeks ago! Gnarly!

Look at the improvement in just a short time!

The kids get to choose the color of their bands if they have done a good job brushing their teeth. Jack has kept up on his brushing (with a few reminders from his parents) and chose orange bands for this visit.

In a couple more visits, he will get his bottom braces.
Then only two years until he gets them off!

Hee Hee!

Hello!

I was sitting around helping Jack with homework and saw Sam’s shoes. So I decided to put one on. I was amazed at the size of his feet compared to mine, so I sent him a picture! “Check this out!”

He responded right away!
“TAKE THOSE OFF! Dear god, mom! You don’t even have socks on!”

I should have known….
