Florida!

Hello!

I am slow to share photos of vacation, but going through 500+ pictures takes awhile! (My dad will be so proud!)

Here are a few from Travel Day!
Though things went very well and no issues, we still do not like travel day!

We flew out of Omaha, so we drove over there early Friday monring. The boys slept the entire way!

Waiting for the shuttle bus in Omaha. Sam was dressed for Florida weather and was freezing! We were all freezing, actually.

Finally got to our hotel. It was so nice to sit outside in the sun! Felt SO good! Sam ordered his first Strawberry Daiquiri of the trip. It did not disappoint!

Jason loves warm weather and vacation!

I had a bad spray tan before we left.  My feet and legs were orange! The boys kept saying, “Gross, MOM! Cover those things up! They look old and wrinkly!” I listened to Trump jokes from Sam all week!

These are not loaves of bread. The one on the left is my orange leg and the one on the right is a loaf of white bread…Oops! I mean it’s Sam’s leg!!

For dinner, we headed to the Boathouse in Disney Springs. We sat outside and it was a bit chilly. Jack was frozen after drinking his slushie. “Put on your sweatshirt,” I told him. “I didn’t bring one,” he said.

UGH!!  Off to get a coat after dinner!

Jack also started his collection of “treasures” from the trip. From dinner, he kept his Lighthouse Cup and his Car Plate!

Charlie was on her own vacation at the local Doggie Daycare. The place she stays, puts up photos everyday of the dogs. Here’s Charlie’s first day…where is she?  That’s her rear in the middle of the picture!

It was a successful first day for all the Belding!

This Kid…

Hello!

Jack had a terrible cold while we were in Orlando. His nose was runny one minute then stuffed up the next. The Kleenex box was his buddy!

But, on a positive note. Due to his cold, he was able to entertain us with this amazing trick!

Never a dull moment with Sam and Jack on a trip!

Remodel Update

Welcome Back!

Our remodeling is in full force and moving along nicely! Last week they demolished all the walls and ceilings.

Ceilings had to be taken down due to having to redo the electrical.

Next step was framing the new areas.

Before Demo (BD) you would walk up the stairs and turn left down the upstairs hallway.

Now, when you go up the stairs, the door goes right into Jack’s new bedroom!

Where Jack’s dresser was BD, it is now the entry way to the Jack and Jill bathroom…meaning both boys will have their own sink and toilet, but will share a shower, that is located between the two bathrooms.

This is Sam’s closet (BD).

It will now be his bathroom!

Will share more pictures as the remodel continues!

I’m Watching You!

Welcome Back!

Since the remodeling of the boys’ bedrooms meant finding a place for all their belongings, Charlie has been introduced to things she had no idea were in our house.

Take the Hermit Crabs…

Her first spotting of the crabs. Complete bewilderment.

The crabs were walking around and she kept her nose right at the cage. She even started to whine!

Finally, she relaxed, but didn’t take her eyes off those crabs!

What a good watch dog!

Just Finished…

Hello!

I just finished reading the book “The Dry” by Jane Harper.
It was my vacation read!

We were on vacation from Friday to Friday and I finished this up on Monday morning!!  I had started to read it at home and was about a third of the way done when we went on vacation and couldn’t put it done!  Thank goodness for a pool day and sleep in day for the boys!

From Amazon:

After getting a note demanding his presence, Federal Agent Aaron Falk arrives in his hometown for the first time in decades to attend the funeral of his best friend, Luke. Twenty years ago when Falk was accused of murder, Luke was his alibi. Falk and his father fled under a cloud of suspicion, saved from prosecution only because of Luke’s steadfast claim that the boys had been together at the time of the crime. But now more than one person knows they didn’t tell the truth back then, and Luke is dead.

Amid the worst drought in a century, Falk and the local detective question what really happened to Luke. As Falk reluctantly investigates to see if there’s more to Luke’s death than there seems to be, long-buried mysteries resurface, as do the lies that have haunted them.

I really liked this book! It grabs you in the first chapter and has great unexpected twists. Yummy!! If you like all the police forensics to prove a crime and proof due to evidence, this book doesn’t have that, but I guarantee  you won’t question who did what.  The author does an amazing job of answering ALL your questions.

What I really liked was how the author wrote the flashbacks. The flashback were included in the chapter, just written in italics.  I really liked this type of writing, because a flashback is usually an entire chapter. This type of writing helped the story from being so choppy and going back and forth.

I would highly recommend this book to all and I can’t wait to read Jane Harper’s new book that came out in February.

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5!

Spring Break!

Hello!

We spent last week in Orlando going to Disney Springs, Universal Studios and Kennedy Space Center. It was one of our top five trips!

We first visited Disney Spring in 2011.  Jack was 5 and Sam was 8.

Last week, when we walked by Buzz Lightyear, Sam said, “I remember getting our picture taken with Buzz!” So of course, we had to get an updated picture!!

While looking for the first Buzz picture, I came across a few that looked similar to last week! Enjoy some more “Now” and “Then” pictures.

Oh my gosh. All these pictures do is remind me how fast time passes and how quickly they grow up!  *sniff* It also reminds me that some things just do not change…the boys are always kids at heart! *love*

Final Phase!

Hello!

Well, we are officially starting the last phase of our house remodel, which is the second floor. Currently there are three bedrooms and two full baths. We are changing it into two large bedrooms and a jack and jill bathroom.

The boys have been busy hammering through some of the walls that will be removed.  It’s not every day you can hammer a wall and throw baseballs through it! Good to let off some steam!

Make sure to stop by for updates and I am sure there will be some good unexpected stories!
